About House Rules

House Rules begins with an inheritance that arrives with a condition: the apartment complex has to stay occupied or it is lost. Tenants move in quickly, each with a separate agenda, and a developer works against the protagonist in the background. The task set by the opening post is to keep the building, write the rules of the house and work out which of those rules can be broken. Humour runs through the premise, and the tone is closer to management comedy than to straight drama. The building is the setting for every scene, so the premises double as the map.

The current build is version 1.0 Demo, covering chapters 1 and 2 of a planned 12, built on Ren'Py and dated 27 October 2026 in the opening post, with a thread update on 29 October 2026. Windows, Linux and macOS files are listed: an executable, a shell script and a macOS app bundle. The app bundle is unsigned, so macOS needs a right-click and Open on first launch. Text is English, the game is uncensored, and no size figure is given.

The developer notes describe this as a first serious adult game after older attempts the author rates poorly, with a stated commitment to steady improvement and more content. The demo holds 80 CGs and 7 animations against a full-game target of 384 CGs and 74 animations across twelve chapters. Nine endings are planned from branching choices, and the feature list names seven love interests. Two tags in the listing are marked as planned for the full game rather than present in the demo.

The free-roam map is the spine: every morning, afternoon and evening the player chooses where to go and whom to talk to, and time spent with a character shapes how the storyline branches. The tag list places the game in dating sim, sandbox and harem territory, with MILF, romance, teasing and POV elements, 2DCG art and AI-assisted CG. Characters react to how they are treated as much as to how often they are visited, which is why the ending count scales with the branches rather than sitting fixed. The chapter and CG counts are the only scope figures attached to the release.

Distribution runs through the developer's page linked in the card: the demo files are published there, and this page carries no downloads and no mirrors. Version numbering, the platform list and the chapter count should be confirmed on that page before installing, because a demo build can be replaced without the card being updated. The card fields record the release date and the last update, and the changelog names only the initial demo build. No second build or patch note appears in the changelog, so 1.0 Demo remains the only version described.
